THE HISTORIC NOLDE HOUSE
– the residential rooms
The layout of the residential rooms follows the course of the sun: In the east lies the bedroom, the dining room faces south, and the living room catches the evening rays of the sun. Inside, the unity of art and life that Nolde strove for becomes tangible. Some pieces of furniture were built to his designs, and Ada wove textiles according to drawings by her husband. The walls glow with a colouration that captures the intense colours of Nolde’s artworks.
