that blooms in march?
In March: Primrose
The first flowering perennial of the year is the primrose (Primula juliae). Vibrantly violet in colour, these form a 30 cm-wide ring of flowers around the letter-shaped flowerbeds the painter laid out in 1926 to trace the initials A (for his wife Ada) and E (for Emil) in the heart of his garden. These richly coloured borders that hem the flowerbeds contain around 2,000 individual primrose plants.
